What they found was that advertising in the small ads or services index of local newspapers was getting to the stage where it was no longer cost effective. When a reasonable sized advert can cost upwards of £1,000 and has a maximum shelf life of 7 days a good response is crucial to avoid losing money.

While on the study, gathering statistics and burning the midnight oil going over facts and figures, nourishment was required. The only tool to hand was the laptop so the hunt for a local takeaway began. It was surprising how few local takeaways exploited the fact that they could have their menu in thousands of homes just by making use of the technology available. Again though the costs involved in having a web site created and maintaining it over a period of time can still be very high.

This is where e-tameside.co.uk comes in.
