Shopping in Tameside
Over the last ten years the shops in Tameside have
evolved to a point where we have a mixture or traditional shops and
independent retailers alongside major high street brands and out of town
shopping centres.
Shops in Stalybridge still hold the same character as they did 30 years
ago when it first became a pedestrian precinct. You will still find
retailers that have been in the town since the early part of the last
century. With the opening of the new lock and the canal side setting
you'll find everything you need in a relaxed environment. Although if
you do like to supermarket shop then you'll find the
24 hour Tesco superstore on one side of the centre and ALDI on the other.
If you're looking for a little more hustle and bustle and major high
street stores then you have the option of shopping in Ashton-under-Lyne.

many more grace the towns streets. You will also find the fully restored
market hall and outdoor market stalls to hunt out those bargains.
Keeping in mind we still haven't mentioned the Crown Point North retail
park in Denton, the Snipe retail park in Audenshaw, the market town of
Hyde and many more of Tameside jewels, you'll never be short of a little
retail therapy in Tameside.
